Hello, I'm Roberta

I have always been creative and have focused on several different mediums; quilting, embroidery, fabric design, and in the past several years, mixed media painting. The common thread for me is a love of color, pattern and texture, all of which I incorporate into my paintings.

I am drawn to paint the creative outsider; one who is unafraid to express themselves outwardly in a unique fashion. I like the subjects I paint to have an intensity in their expression that makes me want to know them. I try to show the most authentic parts of the person or animal that I paint by accurately drawing their features, and then add hints of collaged paper and fabric to express a unique visual of the subject.
